After a cancellation due to weather the previous week, the Broadwater Bulldog track team traveled to Belgrade for their second meet on Saturday, April 12th.
As the Gallatin Invite progressed, the athletes struggled at times with wind, rain and sleet. Despite those challenges, almost universally our athletes improved their times/distances.
A standout performance by junior Colt Barnard, clocking personal bests (PR) finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, as well as serving as anchor on both relays. Junior Gavin Schmele improved on his PR by another 1’9” to take 2nd in the shot put. Senior Nolan Flynn placed 3rd in the mile run while junior Marek Easter marked 4th in the javelin. The Boy’s Varsity squad scored 34 points altogether for 7th place and the JV team scored 14 points for 9th place.
