So, You Want to Work? Or Just Have a Job?

This sounds like I’m saying the same thing, doesn’t it? I’m not. Many people would like to have a job where they don’t have to show up all the time but get paid. WRONG! If you are lucky enough to find a good job and you, for the most part, don’t hate it, DO THE JOB! Be at your place of employment and do more than just show up. Show a “boss” that you can be relied upon and are willing to work every day that you are scheduled to work.

Lately, it seems like there are folks that want a job but are just unwilling to put in the hours and actually do the job. This is pathetic. They are losers and will never be able to make a life where they don’t have to share a home with a “roommate”. They cannot make a future for their children or for themselves. You all must be laughing at those of us who have put in a career and now have a good life. (We are not laughing at you, we are just shaking our heads at you, thinking how pathetic you are, and how lazy!)

Many was the time I have had to mop floors and wash bakery pans to keep my job. I was not thrilled about having to do this, but I knew that I would not be doing this for the rest of my life. This was a “starter job”, an “entry level” job where I could build on my job experience. Don’t like flipping burgers? Watch the shift leaders, talk to them, learn to run a section or take more responsibility on your shift. I know several people who started out flipping burgers and ended up owning their own company franchise. They became the bosses of their own brand of store, restaurant, or even a department store. NOW they are district managers or company owners. All from being reliable, flipping burgers.

Unless you are lucky enough to invent something that people will pay a million dollars for, ALL of us have had to begin at the bottom; it’s called life! Also, IF you are doing decently, at a job do NOT piss and moan to others about how bad the store etc. is and how bad you thought you were being treated, or the owners were running a bad restaurant. Suck it up and drive on! Don’t be like a salesperson in Wal-Mart, who walks around ignoring the customers, as you wait for the end of your shift. Do the Work!

I am; therefore, I rant. Be good to each other. Don’t be a waste of oxygen!
