I made it back to Montana for spring break, making it the first time that I have traveled and felt like it was a true vacation. I definitely didn’t do much - you can ask my dad - but I got to enjoy life without an insane amount of assignments to finish, obligations to worry about, or work to get to.

Nothing really exciting happened Friday or Saturday, but Sunday held all the fun. I went to Trailhead Church, my home church, and got to help lead worship. I have been leading worship since I got to Fargo, but being able to sing alongside the church family that raised me was very near and dear to my heart. To top it all off, my youngest sister, Teagan, decided to get baptized! It was a very proud big sister moment to see her publicly express her belief in the Lord and see that she was serious about walking and growing in her faith.

On Monday, I went to the Elkhorn Vet Clinic to shadow Dr. Lane. I have worked there in the past, but being able to see a different perspective on veterinary medicine in the real world was exciting. I will spare the details, but I got to see a few cat spays and a neuter. I watched a bull castration and saw multiple types of cells through a microscope and even tagged along for simple wellness exams. He was an amazing teacher and explained every little detail that went on. I learned so much and was so happy that I agreed to spend a day shadowing one of the amazing doctors at that clinic.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, I just helped dad with whatever he needed help with and enjoyed his company, but on Thursday a special surprise was in store! It was about 5 pm and one of our cows - Miley - decided to give birth to her baby, a heifer! Miley was such a good mom right off the bat and it was so exciting to get to see a new calf added to the family while I was home.

Now it is Saturday and as I am writing this I am in the Helena Airport, waiting for the boarding process to start. As I reflect, I know that as I get home to Fargo I will be able to get back to a normal routine, see all of my friends again, and catch up on sleep. However, I am going to miss seeing the mountains outside my window every morning, hanging out with my family whenever I wanted, and having the comfort of familiarity.

Generally, I just can’t wait to come back! See you soon Broadwater County!
