Bozeman, Montana — February 20, 2025 — Cancer Support Community Montana (CSCMT) welcomes applications for its annual For One Another Family Camp which is scheduled this summer for June 26 – June 29. This is an annual 4-day retreat available free of charge to families in Montana affected by a cancer diagnosis.
When a child or parent is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family is impacted. This program offers solace and a reprieve. Not only are there fun activities like swimming, zip lining, volleyball, basketball, arts and crafts, and much more, but also there are licensed mental health professionals and others qualified to create supportive programs and activities focused on empowering and enhancing the whole family.
The evidence-based program provides benefits including improved inter-family communication, better coping skills for children and caregivers, and healthier ways to process changes in the family dynamic. There is also a strong focus on helping children regain a sense of normalcy. For One Another Family Camp’s unique combination of education, recreation, and relaxation activities are designed to enhance community and relationships and offer a FUN-FILLED agenda for ALL AGES.
“This is an opportunity for families from across the state to come together, connect, learn, support, and have fun with others who are impacted by cancer,” said Mari Youngquist, the Associate Director of Programs and the individual who leads Family Camp. She also added that this event “equips parents and children with tools for coping with and talking about the challenges of life when faced with a cancer diagnosis. Through building community and sharing experiences, we become stronger and more resilient!”
For One Another Family Camp is proud to be recognized with Gold Ribbon Accreditation by the Children’s Oncology Camping Association (COCA). Applications are being accepted until May 20th. For more information, go to https://cancersupportmontana.org/find-support/retreats/.
