Wrestling:

Gavin Schmele gave it his all this weekend and brought home a 4th place medal. He had a hard state tournament losing to the future runner up in the quarter finals but he didn't let that define his weekend. He went into the consolation bracket with his eyes set on placing. He had some hard fought matches with a win in triple overtime and pinning his conversation semifinals with 7 seconds left in the match. I'm excited to see what the next season holds for him.

Boys' basketball:

Ryedan Reed is this week's player of the week. Ryedan was the high point scorer in the conference matchup against Jefferson this last week. Taking charges and playing outstanding defense is something that Ryedan does every single game to help our team out. In the fourth quarter, Ryedan took control of the game for our team on both ends of the floor and went on a scoring frenzy scoring 15 points total. He is so hard to guard and is a team first player. We are all thankful that we have a point guard like Ryedan on our team! All of the adversity, long hours, and love for the game have paid off for him, and we can't wait to see what this team is made of at districts! Congrats Ryedan!

Girls' Basketball:

Kaitlyn Noyes, a junior, is a fierce competitor. On Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs faced the Jefferson Panthers, where Kaitlyn recorded seven defensive rebounds, one steal, and 13 points. Despite a tough night at the line—making just 5 of 15 free throws—and shooting 4 of 8 on two-point attempts, she and her team knew that one loss didn’t have to define their next game. On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs took on the Ennis Mustangs, and Kaitlyn responded with an outstanding performance. She adjusted her game and it paid off, tallying one steal, one assist, 14 defensive rebounds, and four offensive rebounds. She was on fire at the free-throw line, sinking 18 of 24, and dominated under the basket, adding 20 more points. Kaitlyn finished the night with an impressive 38 of the Lady Bulldogs’ 62 points in their 62-57 victory over the Mustangs.
