Speech and Drama:
A big congratulations to Kyla Meissner, the Southern BC Divisional Champion in Humorous Solo! Her performance of As Seen on TV was a standout, featuring a variety of hilarious characters brought to life! Kyla’s exceptional performance also played a key role in helping the team bring home the Class B Drama trophy. We’re so proud of her hard work and success—way to go, Kyla!
Wrestling:
Colter Schaible had an exciting weekend at the B/C Duals and came out with his first win of the season in front of the hometown crowd. I am excited to see if he can get his second win and help his team bring back the Copper Shamrock to Townsend.
Boys Basketball:
Ryedan Reed had a fantastic week against great opponents Manhattan Christian and Whitehall. Ryedan does a lot of things for our team that lead to our success as a whole. MHC has a very good press, and Ryedan did a great job of not turning the ball over and making sure our guys were in the right places to be able to score. Ryedan's basketball IQ is phenomenal, his vision on the court offensively helps our team score at a high volume. His unselfishness does not go unnoticed by the coaching staff. Defensively he has been incredible at taking charges and always being in help defense. Ryedan recorded 5 charges in our two games last week. Bruised up, and with a bloody lip, Ryedan would be the first to tell you with a smile that he would do it again in order for our team to succeed. Congratulations Ryedan!
Girls Basketball:
Kaitlyn Noyes, a junior and one of the team’s fastest players, brings positivity both on and off the bench, motivating herself and her teammates to perform at their best. In the game against Manhattan Christian, Kaitlyn’s speed was instrumental in helping the team secure a victory over the Eagles. She contributed four defensive rebounds, one offensive rebound, and one steal while scoring an impressive 21 points. She achieved 75% accuracy on two-point shots (9 of 12 attempts) and 27% accuracy on free throws (3 of 12 attempts). Unsatisfied with her free throw performance, Kaitlyn dedicated time to improving this skill before the following day’s game against the Whitehall Trojans. Her hard work paid off. Against the Trojans, Kaitlyn’s free throw percentage climbed to 75% (3 of 4 attempts). She also contributed 6 points from two-point shots, two steals, three offensive rebounds, and eight defensive rebounds, playing a pivotal role in the team’s win. Kaitlyn’s dedication to improvement and her impactful performances make her a deserving recipient of Player of the Week.
