Stoke Robotics Teams Visit Boeing Manufacturing Plant in Helena
MT43 News Staff Reporter
Science, Technology, Outdoors, Knowledge and Entrepreneurship (STOKE) robotics teams toured the Boeing Manufacturing plant in Helena last week. The Broadwater students got an inside look at what manufacturing and computer coding system jobs might look like for them when they graduate high school.
According to Adam Six, one of the group’s coaches, students learned how coding computers guide machines to produce precision titanium parts for Boeing’s latest passenger aircraft. The machine work is so precise that the tolerances are slimmer than a human hair, he said.
Tool Fabrication Lead Bobbie McCauley led the tour around the plant showing students how their participation in a robotics program can lead them toward a career in aircraft engineering.
