Shout Out of Thanks to Townsend Post Office Employees

The US Post Office folks in Townsend get lots of complaints in their every-day line of work – my package didn’t come, I didn’t get a letter from my daughter, or why is our mail delivered so late in the day?
We at the newspaper just want to change up the image of the post office. Last week we were unable to deliver your paper because the post office was officially closed for Jimmy Carter’s funeral on Thursday. What to do?
Lida at the post office offered to pick up our weekly newspapers at our office, then make sure they got in post office boxes and on mail carriers’ routes early Friday morning – 7:00 a.m. and yes we could pay the postage when we came in Friday afternoon.
Let’s just say “thanks” wasn’t quite enough. The Post Office folks went above and beyond to make sure you received your paper on time. They saved our face – once again. We’ll say it again. Thanks so much!
