Senior Holiday Dinner and Light Tour

On December 9th and 10th, the Rotary Club of Townsend and the Broadwater Area Lions Club sponsored a Senior Holiday Dinner with all the trimmings at the Townsend Senior Center followed by a tour of the Holiday lights throughout town.
Townsend School District #1 and Silver Springs donated the use of their buses to tour the Seniors around town.
Over 70 seniors were served meals over the two-day event. Rotarians provide a bag of home-baked Holiday cookies for each Senior.
For those shut-ins who could not make the dinner, the Clubs purchase and give away poinsettias. The event is loved by all and has been happening since about 2006.
Thanks to all who helped make the event memorable for the seniors.
