Broadwater Community Theater Hosts Evening of Fun and Food

A "Crazy Christmas" play will highlight Broadwater Community Theater’s (BCY) annual dinner fundraising event on Saturday, December 14 at The Lodge.
The adult skit, written by BCT president LaRinda Spencer, is an edgy spoof in which characters Sheriff Delmar and the DJ of the local radio station, KMAS, wring the usual stress of the season from their parts. The sheriff loves Christmas, DJ is the Grinch of the two. An unexpected turn of events comes to the sheriff’s office, which brings out the best in each of them. All’s well that ends well. Spencer includes no spoilers here. Diners must come to the gala event to learn how the play ends and enjoy dinner and beverages at this once-a-year community event.
The annual event begins the sponsorship drive for Broadwater Community Theater. The nonprofit theater, in its sixth year, hosts children’s plays, adult skits, dance classes, Queen City Swing dances and Grand Street Theater summer camps for elementary school students. It is affiliated with the children’s afterschool program STOKE.
Tickets go on sale at Reading Leaves Bookstore, 401 Broadway, December 2 through December 10. No tickets will be sold at the door. For more information please call LaRinda at (406) 475-4016.
