"Doings of a Week”
The Townsend Merc Co. is having the store building rewired throughout and a new set of lights put in and we may now look for more light on in this popular business house of Townsend.
The carpenters of the town have a grievance against John Schmidt. The bald-faced German who is presiding officer of the Dixon Brewery. John has been scabbing on the carpenters by going into the building business during his leisure hours. He has demonstrated, however, that he is some wood butcher, as he put up a whole building all by himself in a few days.
Thos. O’Connor of Great Falls former resident of Townsend and brother of our popular undertaker among the dead, was a visitor in town this week and was kept busy greeting old time friends and acquaintances.
