The brave who see the dark of death,
Who stand alone between us and loss,
Those who live to tell of the deeds,
Their own heroics as well as others,
For those who defend our home and land
We thank you, for all that you have given for us.
The men and women who leave their homes, The people who leave their families behind.
Those who leave to give us a better life
We thank you, and wish you the best in everything,
For you have given up most everything,
Just for us to have a better life.
For those who have risked it all,
Have watched others fall
Or have lost anything to the call of war
To those who have gone on the precipice of death
We thank and honor your sacrifice,
Of the hours you have spent ever vigilant
Of the elongated minutes in the hours of combat
Of the time spent protecting your family and all that you have ever loved
We thank you for your service on this fine day.
And the job well done that is your service.
