This is going out after all the Election craziness, so I am literally a voice from the past. Wow, serious Strangeness
ALL these people running for one office or another are plain old human beings. I don’t mean to scare you, but they are “possibly” a bit more knowledgeable about the world than us….Possibly. Then again, they also “mostly” came from the same type of backgrounds that we have, yes some of these folks are from rich, or well-to-do families. Many started out the same ways we did, meaning: Before they went to schools of “higher learning” such as colleges and specialty schools (law schools, medical schools etc.) they went to Elementary School, Jr. High (I refuse to say “Middle School”) and High School. Unfortunately, it seems they never grew out of wanting to get back at regular people who tormented them. What better way to hurt folks from your past than to RULE them!
Those who have gotten into positions of power, like it. Unless they are grounded in good Christian values, many of them can be warped into twisted evil people. I’m not talking about religion; I’m talking about God. Basic Christian learning and values can be a blessing to so many people. Basic family and community values help us to keep on the straight and narrow path to becoming good people. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? It isn’t! You have heard it said: “Money is the root of all evil!” (I know most all of us think, "Yeah, well, let me get a few million dollars and I’ll be a great guy”.) Maybe, but it seems that the more money we throw at politicians, the more they want.
You can not even run for any “Federal” office unless you have millions of dollars anymore. Old Abe Lincoln wouldn’t even make it in the front door in this day and age. Sad…ALL the politicians / public servants NEED to remember where they came from and what their parents are still going through. IF you remember your history, our Senators, and Congress people were NEVER supposed to live in Washington D.C. They were to travel there for voting and bringing the message from THEIR state people about what THEY wanted done in Washington! NOT vote on whatever their parties thought would be good to line their own pockets.
A few years ago, one Congressman started sleeping on the couch in his congressional office, saying “I can’t live on the Government salary of ONLY $170,000. a month, here in D.C.” Whoa, slow down there Sparky, go back to your state and see how your people are living. You know, most every state has Military posts with plenty of barracks rooms available that would be a great place to “house” all our Federal civil servants, eh?
