Governor Gianforte Visits Home-Grown Businesses
MT43 News Staff Reporter
Montana Governor Greg Gianforte visited the Townsend Mercantile Thursday as part of his 56-county tour. Broadwater County was number 55 on his list.
His focus with the tour is to highlight small businesses in Montana including honoring veterans who have started new businesses. According to Press Secretary Kaitlin Price, the governor spent two days traveling to eastern Montana in Plentywood, then to Ekalaka to visit the town’s new Dahl Hospital.
The governor spoke at length with C Hangin' C owner Cassie Cooper, Little Creek Feed owners Caroline and Justin Nelson and J Rock Jewelry owner Jessica Hanson.
Governor Gianforte comments after his tour: “I am excited to see the entrepreneurship alive and well in Townsend, especially through these talented men and women. They create jobs and pay taxes. They are the backbone of Montana. There are 60,000 new businesses that registered last year. We see because of job creation and business growth, we can show wage growth has exceeded inflation this year. It is all part of the American dream.”
