Family of Denise Hansen

Denise Rae (Whitmore) Hansen passed away at the age of 78 on the morning of October 5, 2024, at her home in Townsend, MT, surrounded by her husband (Gary) and sister (Darci). After years of battling cancer, Denise went home to be with Jesus.

Denise was born September 15, 1946, in Great Falls, Montana. She was the first of five children born to Robert Wayne Whitmore and Lana May Schwab. Denise was raised in Great Falls and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1964. She married Gary Hansen on December 31, 1964, in Great Falls, MT, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. They recently celebrated 59 years of marriage. Gary is a four-year veteran of the US Marine Corps. Denise loved the Lord and had a heart for the nations. She and Gary served as missionaries in Uganda, Africa, for several years, traveled to Isreal, and led many women’s bible study groups.

Denise was survived by her husband, Gary Hansen; her 3 children, Kimberly Dolan, Chad (Candi) Hansen, and Cody (Daylene) Hansen; her 4 siblings, Donna Robinson, Robert Dean Whitmore, Darci Sanborn, and Delayne Sensibaugh;10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wayne Whitmore and Lana May Schwab, and her in-laws, Alfred and Gladys Hansen.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Denise Rae Hansen on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 11:00 to 2:00 pm at the Trailhead Church in Townsend, MT, followed by a burial service at Deep Creek Cemetery.
