Background:
Audrey Plymale, 63, is running for Broadwater County Clerk of District Court. She and her husband William have raised cattle and hay for 39 years on the east side of Canyon Ferry Lake. They are an active part of the agricultural community in Broadwater County. They have 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren. She was born in Butte and is one of 10 siblings.
Why should Broadwater County Voters Vote for you? Audrey has worked in the County Clerk of Court’s office for 20 years during which she has learned the need for accurate detail in filing court documents. She interacts with the public regarding civil suits, marriage licenses, family adoptions and juvenile filings. She also handles all the archives in the office. She explains the office is not simply clerical in nature or secondary within the court system. The duties of Clerk of Court office are mandated by over 1,100 statutes of the Montana Codes. As Chief Deputy, she has worked with the public, attorneys and judges. Her work has provided her with insights into the inner workings of the Montana State legal system. She says her professionalism, expertise and personal connections give her a unique position to serve as Clerk of District Court. “My motto is Treat people as I want to be treated. I try to be open and honest to make people feel comfortable in what is usually an unpleasant situation. Listening to people is very important. They come to the office because they have nowhere else to go,” she explained.
