The Friday night lights were shining in Manhattan, Montana on the night of the 27th where the 2-1 Townsend Bulldogs met the 3-0 Manhattan Tigers. Townsend was coming off a win against the Whitehall Trojans the prior week.

In the first quarter, Townsend couldn’t quite get it rolling and unfortunately, Manhattan punched in two scores and a pair of two-point conversions to lead 16-0 at the end of the first quarter. Townsend was able to break the scoring drought in the second quarter with a long Marek Easter run to take the Bulldogs down to the 5-yard line. Marek capped off the drive with a 5-yard rushing touchdown followed by a Logan Johnson extra point. Marek Easter had arguably his best game of the short season with some strong running as well as some tough defensive play. At the half, the Bulldogs were down 7-28.

In the third quarter, the Bulldogs defense strengthened and held the Tigers to only 6 points. The Bulldog offense remained quiet in the third and the quarter ended with the score being 34-7 Manhattan. The Bulldog defense really tightened up in the Fourth Quarter and held Manhattan scoreless. The Bulldog offense got close to a touchdown at the end of the fourth quarter but couldn’t quite get it in. The game ended with Manhattan prevailing 34-7.

Next week the Bulldogs are at home against the Three Forks Wolves for homecoming. Swing in and pick up dinner from the senior steak fry in the elementary commons area and check out the silent auction before going and supporting the dogs. GO DAWG POUND!
