First Responder Dinner

American Legion Post 42
On Saturday, September 7, The American Legion catered a dinner that was open to all the First Responders of Townsend. The event was attended by over a dozen sheriff’s deputies. We all enjoyed the Southwestern enchiladas with beans and Spanish rice, followed by a traditional Mexican dessert called sopapillas.
After dinner, the American Legion presented an award to the leading first responder of the Sheriff's Department. The Emergency Medical Technicians did not make it to the dinner, though we still honored the recipient. We hope their attendance didn’t mean someone was in peril.
Jordan Grimsrud received an award for his excellent performance in law enforcement. Especially excelling as a K9 handler and in drug interdiction.
Sheri Graham received an award for her kindness and caring as well as her willingness to be on call from her full-time job at the state EMS Trauma system center, to fill in as an emergency medical technician.
Everyone agreed that the event was a great success and that we’d all like to do it again next year!
