The Townsend United Methodist and Faith Baptist Churches will be staffing the food pantry during the month of September.
Food pantry supplies were distributed to 36 families serving 71 family members on September 7th.
From now until the end of November, Town Pump will be matching all money donations 1 to 1. You may donate at our booth during the Fall Fest, drop it by the food pantry on Friday or Saturday mornings between 9 and 11 or mail donations to P.O Box 1164, Townsend Mt. You may also use the wooden boxes located at the checkout lines at Bob’s Market.
On Saturday, September 21, we will begin signing up those who would like a Thanksgiving meal. Signups will be on that Saturday and the 5th and 19th of October. Our order has to be in early so the order at Bob’s can be filled. The meals will be distributed on November 23 between 1 and 3 pm.
The food pantry will be open for the distribution of food on the first and third Saturday of the month (Sept. 7 and 21) between 9:00 and 10:45. If there is a 5th Saturday, we will be open then also. Distribution outside of the normal hours is for emergencies and on an individual basis. Emergency food needs may be distributed by calling Karoline Nelson at 406-438-3981 or Daryl Blumhagen at 406-980-0800.
Donations may be dropped off either on the first or third Fridays between 9:30 and 11:00 or on Saturday between 9:00 and 10:45. They will also be received at the same time if there is a fifth weekend. If you are unable to bring your donation during these hours, you can call Karoline or Daryl at the numbers above. For cash donations, there are donation boxes at the checkout counters at Bob’s Supermarket or they can mailed to the Broadwater Food Pantry, P. O. Box 1164, Townsend, Mt 59644. We are located at 315 Broadway.
Items needed this week are: chili, can stew, soups, crackers, peanut butter, Skillet meals or Hamburger Helper. We are also in need of burger. If you or someone you may know might either want to donate some or have any available for purchase, please contact Daryl or Karoline at the numbers above.
