White Sulphur Springs Man Dies in Car Accident at Fairgrounds

A White Sulphur Springs man died of his injuries sustained in a two-car accident at the airport turnoff into Broadwater County Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 31st.

According to an official report from Broadwater County Sheriff Nick Rauser, the accident happened at 1:45 p.m. George Kinnick of White Sulphur was life-flighted to Great Falls. He died of his injuries Sunday. The other vehicle’s occupants had minor injuries. “It appears that George was traveling east and he turned into the Fairgrounds last minute and was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Highway 12,” Rauser’s report said.

According to friends Kinnick had attended the Kurt Diehl funeral in Townsend and was headed to the reception at the 4-H building.

Rauser’s report showed deputies responded along with Emergency Medical Services, the Fire Department and Montana Highway patrol officers. The accident is still under investigation.
