Believe it or not, juggling class lectures, homework, club gatherings, and personal responsibilities is hard work. I rarely have time to unplug from everything through the distraction of a good book or my phone, and as a result, my distractions have been my personal responsibilities and club gatherings.

This past week, I was overstimulated with eighteen pages of trigonometry homework, lecture readings for Anatomy and Physiology, lecture notes for Animal Sciences 102 and Chemistry, and Biology Lab preparations. Don’t get me wrong, I was able to organize well and get everything done well before they were due, but the nonstop work just left me stressing.

Ironically, when I wasn’t stressing out about my schooling, I spent my free time stressing out about my personal life, specifically, my car. After talking to my dad and boyfriend about it for hours, we believe that my car's fuel pump is going out. Unfortunately, I am nowhere close to a mechanic, my dad is 11 hours away, I am an average broke college student, and I still need to fix my car as soon as possible. Long story short, my dad was able to help out and buy me a small toolkit and fuel pump, and even research videos on how to change out the fuel pump in my Honda so I could fix it, my boyfriend made the trip to check out the car and make sure I knew how to fix it, and I found a few auto shops I could take my car to if the change in the fuel pump didn’t work.

On a positive note, I met a group of people from Chi Alpha that I can get connected with. Within the entire group of 337 people, I have gone to two Chi Worship Services, a bonfire at the pastor's house, and a Labor Day Lake Day and I had the opportunity to surround myself with God-fearing people my age and enjoy playing volleyball, jetskiing, and worship around a bonfire. I got involved in one of the small groups to spend time with my God on a personal level with other girls, and I even got in contact with one of the Chi worship leaders to talk about possibly joining the worship team!

This week gave me a lot of insight into what college life actually looks like, and it was very comforting. 80% of my time is spent doing school work, but the other 20% is making memories, both good and bad, that are going to last me a lifetime. Seeing how this past week has gone, I am even more excited for the rest of the year and I can’t wait to see where my college experience takes me.
