Family of Alice M. Hall
Like a firefly drifting through the night, it is with wonder and awe that we sadly announce that Alice M. (Johnson) Hall has departed this physical form during the early morning of Sunday, August 4, 2024. Alice survived 84 years, as her last hours of slumber resided at Bee Hive Senior Living Center, in Helena, Montana. Sudden excitement was brought to her and the family as St. Peter’s Hospital discovered Alice was suffering from organ failure (cause of death).
Alice was a loving wife of 60 years to her devoted Husband, Maitland P. Hall; a mother of five to William, Ervin, Dotty, David, and Diana; with 10 grand-children, 11 great-grand-children, she lived to see one great-great-grand-child walk this Earth. Alice was a proud homemaker and caregiver. The talents were immediately acknowledged and nurtured by her parents, Albert and Maxine Johnson, at a young age. She loved to embroider, cook, and care for children. She was always proud of encouraging people to get their babies baptized and be of service to the church.
Alice managed to have photos taken with her beloved dog, Uno, just before her birthday this past June. They arrived from print right when she became sick in late July. She arrived back at her home under Hospice care just in time (and coherent) to see the photo(s).
Leavetaking
By Mary Lee Hill
“If I should die and leave you here awhile,
Be not like others, sore undone, who keep
Long vigil by the silent dust and weep.
For my sake turn to life and smile,
Nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do
Something to comfort weaker hearts than thine.
Complete these dear unfinished tasks of mine,
And I, perchance, may therein comfort you.”
Services will be held for her and her husband, Maitland, at 3 pm on August 30, 2024, in the Fort Harrison Veterans Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the American Legion Post 2 Reception Hall.
