The Moonshiner Band Shines at the Canton Church

The Moonshiner Band (Tyler Torgrimson and his brother Luke) performed at the historic Canton Church on Friday, August 26. On a hot, very smoke-filled day, about 35 people attended the event at the Canton Church to listen to The Moonshiner Band.

Tyler Torgrimson (guitar) and his brother Luke (various harmonicas) played a collection of country/bluegrass music. Tyler’s grandmother came to the event and at her request, The Moonshiner band played some gospel music.

Tyler said he grew up playing in churches across the state with his father. With the Moonshiner band, he now plays at events throughout the state.

Tyler is an accomplished musician – he plays rhythm/lead guitar, the mandolin and the trombone. He is also a great vocalist. His brother Luke played the harmonica and was a great addition.

Everyone in attendance had a great time and we expect to have The Moonshiner Band play regularly at the Canton Church.

The Historic Canton Church was built in 1875-1876 and is one of the few surviving buildings from the town of Canton which was flooded during the creation of Canyon Ferry Lake. All our events begin at 5:00 pm but the Canton Church will be open to visitors from 3:00-5:00 pm before events.
