The Rotary Club of Townsend sponsored the fantastic Culpepper and Merriweather Circus on Wednesday, June 26th at the Broadwater County Fairgrounds. Rotary’s goal this year was to provide free $8 circus tickets for all children ages 2-12 years-of-age in Broadwater County. Rotary supplied $2,000 and raised another $900 in donations and was able to give away over 350 free children’s tickets! Over 150 people attended each of the two shows.

Rotary president Jeanine Stone was the local ringmaster. Rotary’s District Governor Rick Powers and his wife Nikki attended the circus from Anaconda. It was so great to see the kids enjoying the circus clown and other acts as well as the pony rides, bouncy houses, etc. And of course, there is always highly malnutritous food at circuses like cotton candy, snow cones, hot dogs, etc. Circus management was very happy with the turnout, and they want to come back again in two years. See you at the circus in 2026!

Thank you for your support! Rotary- it’s about helping our kids!
