POPPY DAY
Karen Susag
American Legion Secretary
Around Memorial Day each year, Townsend American Legion and Auxiliary Post #42 are on the streets offering a small red crepe paper Memorial Poppy to the public for a donation. Look for them Saturday morning May 18th.
Meeting the continuing needs of our veterans should be the concern of every American who values his or her freedom. The Auxiliary promotes the poppy as a symbol of the sacrifices our military has made, a symbol to open people’s hearts and inspire them to donate. Even if people choose not to donate it is important to be reminded of the sacrifices made by the Military. Freedom is not free; we all have to do our part to maintain America’s ideals and principles.
All our donations stay in Montana to help support Montana’s Veterans and their families. Please be generous!
