Common Sense

Why is it that the same folks that talk about staying in shape & working out, are the people who keep wanting EVERYTHING delivered to their house? I remember talking to people that had the local grocery store Deliver their groceries to their home, this was even before my time. That service pretty much went away, but NOW with things like DoorDash and delivery service from places like Walmart, you can get all your food Etc. needs brought right to your door!
I was watching TV the other night, and it seemed like all the companies were telling us we can order ANYTHING we want from home. Never mind going outside for fresh air; No, No, No anything you could possibly desire will be brought to you. Even medicines, “way back, a doctor would even make house calls” not anymore however, there is a clinic on every corner. Yes, and all those “Special Dispensaries” are right in your neighborhood.
Are all of us that needy? “Oh the store is a few blocks away, I don’t want to go out”. This is one reason why we are getting so heavy and unhealthy! YES, there are folks who are not as healthy and need help, I’m not talking about those folks. I’m talking about folks, who sit around watch TV all day and do NOT get any exercise. It’s like people who get a knee or hip replaced, we are told to DO your physical therapy or you will never get the mobility back in that limb. TRUE! I know from experience, do the work.
I know I’m a bit different - a long military career can do that to you - I love sitting on the front porch in the morning sun…WHEN it ever gets warm! And relaxing, but after a while, I have to do something, although those mid-day naps are great. Being a bit lazy is nice, especially after busting your hump all your life working, however even then as an old commercial says “movement is life!". Yep, so get off your rump and walk, or bicycle anything to keep healthy.
I’ve always been a bit hyper - NO not you! - slowing down a bit is good for you; I’m trying to slow down but it doesn’t always work. Go to the store, go have lunch in our fine dining establishments. Just get out and move. Watching the Squirrels relaxes me, except when the little heathens insist on being fed. Live, Laugh & Love, the world is waiting right outside your door, “tell it to wait a minute I have to go to the bathroom.”
Spring, please hurry!
