It is safe to say that the students who worked incredibly hard to put on the spring musical did an amazing job. For about six weeks, students from 9 to 12th grade and even a few middle schoolers practiced their cast parts to put on a show that the audience would never forget. On the 29th and 30th of April, the theatre students put on a stunning show called Dorothy in Wonderland. Exactly as it sounds, Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz gets trapped in Wonderland and has to work together with Alice so they can both get back to their homes. The two have many friends who help them on their way such as Glinda the Good Witch, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, Toto, the Scarecrow, the Lion, and the Tin Man.
Many talented students were involved in the play: Noah Borror playing the White Rabbit; Ava Tiffany as a rose; Kayley Conner as a tiger lily; Grace Kroeger as a daffodil; Melania Lambott as the Caterpillar; Haylie Reinke as Humpty Dumpty and frog footman; Clayton Rice as the King of Hearts and Toto; Angel Sentinella as a pawn; Aubrey Wells as a rook and Five; Trista Moos as a knight; Scarlett McDaniel as Tweedle Dee and the March Hare; Arabella McDaniel as Tweedle Dum and Seven; Lexi Davies as Alice, Aiden Easter as the Mad Hatter and the Wizard; Jasmine Thomas as the Dormouse; Kaitlyn Noyes as a frog footman, the Tornado and Cheshire Cat 3; Logan Barkhurst as Cheshire Cat 1; Jazlyn Martin as Cheshire Cat 2 and Glinda; Hannah Hall as the Queen of Hearts; Melania Lambott as the Knave of Hearts; Kyla Meissner as Dorothy; Cooper Hines as the Scarecrow; Jenna Mainwaring as the Lion; Caleb LeLacheur as the Tin Man; Havyn Vandenacre as the Tornado; Emma Delgado, Cheyenne Douglas, Savannah Sumner, and Kinsley Heggen as the Munchkins; and Uriah Duede and Ayden Thompson as Winkies.
Behind the scenes, some students had to fill last-minute roles, but the audience would not be able to tell. These kids are naturally talented and it was easy to understand that considering these events that took place as the play neared. The laughs and joy were nonstop and the suspense was small but effective. The Spring Musical also served as many seniors' last play (Cooper Hines, Caleb LeLacheur, Havyn Vandenacre, Trista Moos, Aiden Easter, and Melania Lambott) and it was a worthy play to end on. This musical will live on in the hilarious memories of community members for many years to come.
