The Broadwater Bulldogs joined Jefferson and East Helena by traveling to Vigilante Stadium in Helena for the Small Schools Meet on the afternoon of April 25th. They were hosted there by Helena High and Helena Capital. This mid-season meet is historically a fun meet where athletes try new events like the throwers running sprints or the distance kids trying their hand at the short relay. However, do not mistake the fun for frivolity, there are still lots of kids aiming for personal records or state-qualifying times on a track that yields fast times.
The Bulldogs took some time pre-meet to celebrate the senior leaders on this team. Those include Cooper Hines, Luci Horne, Berlin Korr, Havyn Vandenacre, and Reese Wolfgram. Luci, Havyn and Reese have been members of the track and field team all four years, while throwers Cooper and Berlin joined in their junior and senior years. Good luck with your remaining season!
The Lady Bulldogs had a strong day with almost too many personal or season records to mention and many placing in the top ten of each event. A few standout performances to mention: sophomore Emmalin Fischer placed 4th, 3rd, and 7th in the short/long hurdles and triple jump, respectfully.
