The criminal docket in Judge Christopher Abbott’s courtroom on Friday, April 26 is as follows:
Gabriel Puga had an Evidentiary Hearing on a Petition to Revoke on a charge of possession of a firearm. The Hearing is continued until June 28.
John Hansson had an Arraignment; pleading not guilty to charges of 1) theft of a light motor vehicle, 2) tampering with or fabricating evidence 3) tampering with or fabricating evidence. Omnibus is due on June 21; Pre-Trial is set for September 13; with the Jury Trial scheduled on October 11.
John Hansson had an Admit/Denial Hearing; denying allegations of DUI. His bond remains at $25,000. He allegedly has three DUIs pending. He must adhere to all conditions, including no contact with victims/witnesses, no alcohol or drugs, and comply with the 24/4 program.
Kyle Mostad had a Status Hearing on a Petition to Revoke. During his Evidentiary Hearing, it was discovered that he violated the no firearms condition. There may be federal charges. There will be a Status Hearing on May 24.
Justin Henderson appeared for a Change of Plea; pleading Guilty to many of his 13 original charges. His Guilty Plea includes two charges of writing bad checks, theft of labor or services by deception, theft of property, theft of property by deception, and theft of services by deception. He has a restitution of over $50,000 to pay. In his elocution, he admitted to the charges above, committed in the Broadwater community. He will be sentenced on June 28. He must comply with all conditions including to comply with the Pre-Sentence Investigation.
Kale Murgal had his Sentencing; replying to charges of felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor assault. He is Sentenced on count 1) to four years deferred, count 2)six months all suspended. He has the choice of spending one day in jail or three days on house arrest. He must pay $80 in fees and surcharges, he must have 40+ hours anger management, a chemical dependency evaluation and comply with all recommendations. He is to have a mental health evaluation within six months. He must have no contact with victims. The Sentences are to run concurrently.
