Today, Senator Steve Daines announced his endorsement for Susie Hedalen as Montana's next Superintendent at the Office of Public Instruction.

"Susie Hedalen is the leader Montana needs for our next State Superintendent," Daines said. "Susie is an experienced educator, superintendent, and state leader who has been a champion for Montana families, students, and teachers. With Susie running the Office of Public Instruction, parents and students will be put first, and expanded educational opportunities will be created. She will also fight back against federal overreach into our local schools."

Hedalen is the Townsend School District Superintendent and the Montana Board of Public Education Vice-Chair. She previously served as Deputy Superintendent at the Montana Office of Public Instruction. Her extensive experience at all levels of K-20 school systems makes Hedalen the most qualified candidate in decades for Montana's top education position.

"I am honored to have the support of Montana's U.S. Senator, Steve Daines," said Hedalen. "Like Senator Daines, I am committed to preventing federal overreach into Montana's schools, putting parents and students first, and ensuring that our state has safe, high-quality schools."

Hedalen graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, a Master's in Educational Leadership, and a Certificate in Native American Studies. She lives with her husband, Derrick, in Townsend.
