Thank you to community members who attended the First Responder Appreciation and Community Awareness Event held at the Townsend Fire Hall on April 6. The event was organized by participants in the Big Sky, Big Leadership class in Broadwater County, a program of MSU Extension.
Highlights of the event included a Broadwater County Sheriff's Office K9 presentation by Jordan Grimsrud and CPR demonstrations by Shari Graham from the Department of Health and Human Services. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about volunteer opportunities, take home handouts and information, see equipment, and speak with representatives from the Townsend Fire Department, Broadwater County Search and Rescue, Motor Carrier Service, U.S Forest Service Law Enforcement, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks, and Top Gun Autobody.
The event organizers would like to recognize and thank the generous local businesses who donated door prizes, lunch and funds for the event: Bob's Supermarket, Broadwater Blooms Flower Shop, C Hangin' C Mercantile, Cowgirls Espresso, Deep Creek Pizza, Fishtale Tavern, Full Belli Deli, Hedstrom Complete Auto Repair, Madison River Propane, Montana Hydraulics/Ehlke Herefords, Pintail Salon, Precision Business Resources, Reading Leaves Bookstore, TB's Diner, TK's Garage, Townsend Barber Shop, Townsend Hardware, Townsend Marine, and True Value Hardware.
