Letter To The Editor: Support McMurray
Author: Kyle Vandyken

Support McMurray Kyle McMurray is running for House District 77 and I’m writing to support his candidacy.

I’ve known Kyle for my entire life (41 years). I know him to be an honest and hardworking man, who makes decisions with integrity. I know he is committed to helping preserve Montana values.

I’m confident that he will advocate for parental rights, property rights, and public access for sportsmen and women, as well as do what he can to protect family ranches and farms that are being threatened from different avenues, among other traditional Montana values.

He owned and operated Advanced EyeCare in Bozeman and Belgrade for 40 years along with four partners. He was one of the founding partners in a successful optical lens lab in Helena that started out with four employees, and now employs 56 folks and serves over 100 individual Drs of Optometry, mostly in Montana and the neighboring states.

Like many residents in this state, Kyle and I have had many conversations regarding the need to address Montana property taxes. Candidate McMurray has assured me that he is committed to studying this issue for the people of Montana, and making tough decisions that are needed with energy and determination. This is a complex issue that does not have easy solutions but Kyle “believes that excellent results can be achieved if we care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is practical, and expect more than others think is possible”.

I know that this is one big topic that made his decision to run in the district he grew up in clearer. Something needs to be done to make it possible for Montana to afford to keep the people who hold its values and not force them out because of financial stress.
