Your Opportunity to Help Veterans Erect Memorial
The opportunity people of this community have been waiting for has arrived. The chance to help erect that Memorial in memory of the departed veterans of all wars is a hand. It came about that the living veterans undertook the task of having the monument erected and those who care to, can help with the finances.
Accordingly, a party has been advertised for this Saturday night at the Legion Hall. Those who cannot attend the party and lend a helping hand that way may still contribute their share by contacting any of the following: Geo. Pennell, Fred Geiser, Frank Hooks, Fred Williams, Les Anders.
The memorial marker will be erected in Memorial Park, Townsend and will be a native polished marble and native copper marker. A steel flagpole and concrete platform will constitute part of the memorial.
It has long been felt that something should be done, but no one seemed to do it. Finally, the Veterans took up the torch. Now let us all give the vets the big hand they deserve.

Grand Opening of Beyers New Highway Bar Announced for Sunday
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Byers wish to announce that they will have the grand opening of their new bar on highway 10N Sunday immediately after the Toston Fish Derby. They will serve complimentary beer for an hour and cordially invite the public to come and inspect their new quarters.
The Bunkhouse was named probably because the building was formerly used at a mine near Radersburg. No one would know it now. The weather-beaten building has been completely redone with knotty pine and modern fireplace inside with complete new modern bar and latest refrigeration. The exterior is finished with the planed log siding. Both inside and outside are finished with clear varnish and is not only attractive, but comfortable as well.
