Monumental VBS
Author: Alexa O'Dell

As our children prepare to go back to school this fall, it's a good time to remember a highlight of the summer.

At the end of July, Trailhead Christian Fellowship Church hosted its eleventh Vacation Bible School. Over the years, this ministry has grown from around 30 children and fluctuated up to 90 kids in 2019. It is one of our largest community outreach programs.

This year, Trailhead welcomed 83 children to VBS called Monumental and spent a week celebrating God's greatness. There were 23 youth leaders and over 20 adults involved, keeping the program fun and on track.

The Bible stories were centered around the life of Joseph who was sold into slavery by his brothers. Eventually, Joseph, placed in a position of power in Egypt, helped to save and reunite with his family.

Children spent each day in Bible Adventures (learnĀing of Joseph's story) and also participated in stations where they watched videos about children around the world who are making a difference in their communities; made connections about God's creativity in the world, played high energy (and wet!) games, and learned new worship songs.

A MONUMENTAL time was had by all.
