Townsend Senior Center - Carol Anderson
Author: Jay Kitt
When I asked Ruthie Knowles about her sister Carol Ander¬son, she was proud to tell me all about her. Carol has been the main cook (chef) at the Townsend Senior Center for the past 32 years. Carol was trained into that position by Doris Hossfeld’s mother, Irene Burtch. Carol has held many other positions prior to this including working at the hospital as a cook and also a janitor at the school.
Carol moved here from Hel¬ena. She puts out anywhere from 50-70 meals Monday through Friday. Around 35 of those are delivered to homebound people. Around 15 meals go to Head Start students and teachers and the rest are people who come to the Center to eat in.
Carol is an extremely good cook and takes her job very seriously. Her kitchen is always immaculate.
Meals are $5 donation for seniors. Come have a delicious meal for this very reasonable fee and meet new and old friends.
COME JOIN A VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING PINOCHLE GROUP AT THE SENIOR CENTER! WE PLAY EVERY WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY AT 1:00 P.M. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL RICH AT 266-1565 OR JAY AT 210-5753
