The historic Canton Church will continue our Summer Event schedule on July 15, 2022 with a historic presentation on Broadwater County Pioneer and Leader, W.E. Tierney.
W.E. Tierney was a Meagher County Commissioner and rep¬resented Broadwater County as a State Representative and State Senator. He owned stores in Canton, Cave Gulch, Radersburg, Hassel and Townsend. He was instrumental in creating the State Bank of Townsend, the Townsend Hotel and the W.E. Tierney department store in Townsend.
The Canton Church will be open at 3:00 p.m. for visita¬tion. The presentation starts at 5:00 p.m.
Admission is FREE!
Canton Church Restora¬tion, Inc. was formed to restore the church and to ensure its continued preservation. While we do accept donations, all presentations and programs are free of charge so that everyone can enjoy the events.
