The Commissioner of Securities and Insurance (CSI) staff gave a presentation at The Lodge of Townsend on Thursday morning. The topic of discussion was common investment scams and ways that adults and seniors can protect themselves.

The event consisted of thoughtful conversations between the CSI team, community members, and local law enforcement officers. Additionally, Chantelle Nash from Opportunity Bank spoke about some of the financial fraud the bank has witnessed in Helena and the surrounding area. Community members had the opportunity to ask questions about recent fraud trends, and best practices for avoiding scammers.

The CSI regulates both the securities and insurance industries in Montana. To request an educational presentation about investment/insurance scams or similar topics, please reach out to Blair Stapleton, Investor Education Coordinator at (406) 444-3422.
