In the famous movie, Top Gun, Maverick speaks to Goose and says, “I feel the need, the need for speed.” Aidan Easter certainly has had the need for speed throughout his high school career. From his attentiveness in school to his sports career, Aidan has been speedy through it all. He grew up in Townsend, MT, and has traveled around the state. He has grown up with his three siblings: Marek, Liam, and Keara; and his parents Tommy, who works for American Chemet as a mechanic, and Melinda, who works at Three-Dimensional Health and Wellness.
Throughout his high school career, Aidan has been involved in many activities including track, wrestling, cross country, speech and drama, drama club, and close-up. Though all of these sports and clubs have impacted him in ways that will prepare him for so many skills needed as an adult, cross country has impacted him the most. He was the captain of the varsity team and it taught him that “time shouldn’t dictate how you spend it” and that your two legs can take you to places you never imagined.
Aidan has grown and has taken his own words to heart. His two legs will definitely take him far after his high school career. He will not be attending trade school or college, however, he will be sacrificing at least four years of time with family and old friends to serve his country in the Navy. With plans already in motion, he will leave in the month of June to start his career as an Aviation Machinist Mate, also known as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic.
The senior class, the school, the community, and his family will miss him dearly once he embarks on his journey, but collectively we know and can be sure that his talents and his sarcastic and joyous personality will be used for greatness as he serves our country. His undying care for those around him will get him far during his service. Just like when Maverick spoke to Charlie and said, “You think I am reckless? I’ll have you know that my crew and my plane come first,” Aidan will have the backs of his crew, his community, and his country without.
