Chamber Holds After Hours Event

Townsend Area Chamber of Commerce held its first after-hours event for new and established business owners to meet and get to know each other.

Nearly 20 people gathered at JRock Jewelry at 321 Broadway and enjoyed treats made by Angie Wintrow of the Mountie Mouse Bakery. Co-President Keith Hartmann said the board was pleased with the turnout and would be working to plan another event at other businesses soon. Common Sense Bookstore owner Bill Garwood won the door prize.

New board member Doug Sitton was pleased with the turnout. “It is neat that we have a new start on a great event. The Chamber did these events when I was a member from 2007 to 2013. We had as high as 100 people attend. It was a great place to network. It’s really great we (the Chamber) have turned a corner with new people who want to get involved. We appreciate them,” he said.

He felt the event was successful because he and co-President Jenni Fellenz went door to door to interest business owners to attend.
