The Bulldogs traveled to Ronan this past weekend to attend the Western Montana Boys
Invitational.
The Team started strong Saturday morning with Blake Wellenstein kicking off a winning streak pinning his opponent 15 seconds into round two. Parker Hunt, Kaehl Owens, and Hunter Borror all followed suit with the pin for their first bouts.
Round two of the tournaments did not go quite so well. Wellenstien, still recovering from a shoulder injury acquired earlier in the season, was pinned in the second round. Owens wound up pinned in the first round. Hunt, also battling a previous rib injury, was bridging out of a butcher in round two when his head slipped causing his opponent's forearm to smack right into his nose, causing yet another injury, and inevitably getting pinned. Borror scratched from the remainder of the tournament with what was presumably food poisoning.
Consolation rounds didn’t go much better for the Bulldogs, although they fought through injuries and some tough opponents no one advanced to the consolation quarter-finals.
“The Dawgs will be back.” Well said words from Hunter Borror after the boys arrived back in Townsend Saturday.

Next events the team travels to Harrison Tuesday, January 9th followed by Choteau on January 12/13.
