Recycle Christmas lights:

Christmas Light recycling is up! Please bring old strings of lights or extension cords ready for the trash over to Reading Leaves Books and put them in the recycling bin instead!

They prefer if the bulbs are removed but have a volunteer willing to remove them if you get them into the bin!

Recycle Christmas trees:

The Boy Scouts Troop 214 & 218 are collecting Christmas trees. Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks will sink the trees into Canyon Ferry this spring to support the perch habitat.

There are a couple options to contribute your tree.

You can email the Scouts at: troop214helena@gmail.com and arrange for them to pick up for a $10 donation.

You can go directly to the drop-off location in the Silos area past the Silos Campground. Look for the sign that says, “NO DUMPING”. The trees can be dropped behind that sign.

Only donate real trees that are not flocked and have been cleaned of all decorations and light strings. Please, no wreaths or tree clippings. Thanks!
