Athletes of the week: Emily Bird and Luci Horne led their team to a first-place finish at the district tournament. They had to come through the hard way and win both championships.
Volleyball:
Emily Bird: set a new school record for sets in a match with 66. For the whole tournament, she accumulated 10 aces, 96 digs, 215 assists, 5 kills and 7 blocks.
Luci Horne: set a new school record for digs in a match with 44. For the whole tournament, she accumulated 14 aces, 126 digs, 12 assists and 7 kills.
