We need to go to Great Falls twice a year; in April and in October. Of course, sometimes we get to Great Falls other times as well. We usually go to a restaurant for a meal while we are there.
We have a number of restaurants we like, so we kind of get into a rut going to one of the usual places. This time we asked for a recommendation. We were referred to “Street Burgers”. We had seen a television segment on “Street Burgers” on KRTV News and thought it looked fun; so we decided to try them. They are located at 2319 10th Avenue South (Suite A) in Great Falls.
While you do order at a counter, the burgers are cooked fresh; they are not pre-cooked and sitting under a heat lamp. They had regular burgers and “smash burgers”. We decided to try a smash burger which is just the regular burger smashed down quite thin. You can get 1 patty, 2 patty or 3 patty burgers – with each patty being a 1/3 pound of beef. We went for the 1 patty smash burger.
The buns are baked locally with Mountain Man Scotch Ale from Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Company.
That one patty was plenty big enough. We did see someone order a 3 patty burger – that burger was huge! Along with the burger we ordered fries. We just got one order of fries. We thought we ate a lot of fries; but, we took home a lot – enough for 2 more meals at home.
The burgers and the fries were among the best we have had anywhere. The prices were reasonable, the service was quick AND good. We were very full! At the table next to us a teenager ordered one of the Street Burger milkshakes. It was huge and came with cookies/waffles, marshmallows, candy bar and more. It looked like it was probably a 5,000 calorie milkshake. His mother said he broke his collar bone that morning and needed a treat!
Street Burgers does have more than just burgers! They have fish sandwiches, chicken strips, salads and wings.
Usually, the Traveling Diners like to report on upscale restaurants in the Townsend Region; but, we enjoyed Street Burgers so much we decided to report on a more casual, slightly out of the region restaurant.
