Nate Brown for City Council Ward III
I am a third generation Broadwater County and Townsend resident. My Grandfather and Grandmother Ray and Kitty Wertz moved to Townsend to open the gravel pit in the late 1970’s.
I was born in Marquette, Michigan. In August of 1989, I moved here with my mother and father, Randy and Kathy Brown. I graduated from Mt. Helena Christian School. I have lived here ever since.
My Dad and I started the Big B Badger Materials and Concrete business located on Highway 12 just outside of Townsend in the early 1990s. We deliver all grades of gravel and operate a pumper truck delivering cement for concrete slabs.
I ran for a seat on Townsend City Council in 2020. This is the first time I have had to run as I was appointed to Dave Sitton’s seat when he resigned.
I would say the most important job of being a City Council member is building a budget every year because the budget affects everyone. Another part is coordinating with the county. We work together with the airport board, county commissioners and sheriff’s office, public works and fire departments.
There are a lot of moving parts to working with those offices. In addition to attending two council meetings each month, each member attends meetings for the various committees. I sit on the parks and pool committee, streets, garbage and weed committees.
I live at 319 So. Spruce in Ward III with my wife Nichole and daughters Isabella and Brynlee. I would appreciate your vote in the general election on November 7.
