Townsend Resident Offers Henna Artistry
MT 43 News Staff
Shi Ziegler learned the art of applying henna design to the skin when she lived in a mosque in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
She will be offering henna painting at the Birds Nest on Pine Street. She said many people want to try the henna painting as a trial before they get a permanent tattoo. The henna design lasts between one and two weeks. She works only in natural brown henna.
The henna designs she applies originated in Middle Eastern and Indian cultures. “They are very popular as a part of wedding ceremonies in India,” she said.
Shi will be open for business at the Birds Nest, 125 So. Pine St. Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4. p.m. Her Facebook account is hennabyshi or she can be reached at (406) 410-7757 for an appointment.
