Whether you are a long-time resident or a new neighbor in our valley, now is a good time to think about how incredibly fortunate we are to have the proximity of a long-term care facility with a connected hospital right here in Townsend. It is truly up to us to keep it open. We never know who or when a family member will need it!
It is easy to think that the presence of the beautiful new building built by Billings Clinic was the answer to the financial woes we suffered in 2012. Indeed, Billings Clinic Broadwater being our partner gives us many advantages, but its financial stability still relies on community utilization and support.
The Circle 100 Club was started in 2012 as an offshoot of The Broadwater Community Health Foundation. In that year our little hospital was hit with a blow to its finances when it lost its Medicare funding. A group of hardy souls took up the cause to save the institution…especially the Long-Term Care Facility. Hence, The Circle 100 Club was formed.
Twelve Montana nursing homes had to close this year due to staffing shortages and the increasing cost of staff, medical equipment and essential supplies. Billings Clinic Broadwater faces this very same challenge which makes your support so vital.
In these ELEVEN YEARS, the Circle 100 Club has raised nearly $100,000 to procure equipment and facility upgrades as recommended by the hospital staff. We have helped to purchase a bladder scanner, blood warmers, lab equipment, towel/blanket warmers, overbed tables, room furniture, kitchen equipment, automatic handicap doors, a bath lift and much more.
