Road Supervisor TJ Graveley has been hired to be the Public Works Supervisor as of Oct. 28 when the present supervisor Josh Obert will resign. Obert has taken a position in Kentucky. Obert was hired in May 2020 and has made substantial changes in county road upgrades and work at the three solid waste sites.

Montana Aeronautics will be placing cameras at the city-county airport to aid pilots in landing and taking off without automated weather devices. The airport board approved the cameras. The cost for the cameras will be $4,700 funded by a 50/50 match with airport block grants and county funds.

Susanne Hill of SIM-MT introduced her simulation training organization which trains emergency personnel. According to her handout,” the team works with rural and frontier emergency response agencies and hospitals to train best practice forms for trauma, cardiac and stroke response and other critical events where time is of the essence.” No action was taken by the commissioners.

The Commissioners agreed among themselves to buy a Broadwater County quilt to be displayed in the Flynn building. It will be donated to the county.

Weed and Mosquito Coordinator Jessica Bushnell asked for approval to purchase a second side-by-side to replace one of the board’s which has electrical problems. The cost of the new equipment will be $24,672.00 paid for out of the weed department budget, plus funds from the sale of the nonfunctioning 4x4.

Commissioners approved the revised Grover Family revised Certificate of Survey. The board ended by paying the week’s monetary claims.
