Paul G. Schmitz (Schmitty), of Townsend, Montana, passed away unexpectedly in July 2023.
Paul was born in Mankato, Minnesota on June 2, 1960, to Robert and Lois Schmitz. Paul attended school in Mankato, after which he enlisted in the US Army.
After completing Basic Training and AIT in the States, he was stationed at Baumhilder, West Germany USAEUR, with B Co. 293rd Engineer Battalion. Paul was honorably discharged in 1982.
He will be laid to rest with Military Honors on August 18, 2023, at 2 PM at Ft. Harrison Veterans Cemetery in Helena, Montana. There will be a celebration of life to follow at Townsend, Montana American Legion Post 42.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Camille Schuster, his brothers Michael, Carl and Matthew and sisters Roberta and Kathryn, and all their families.
