Townsend Swimming Program Thanks Lifeguard Training Sponsors!

In 2021, the Townsend city pool was not open because the city could not find lifeguards. Several organizations made sure that did not happen in 2022 and again in 2023.

The Rotary Club of Townsend, St. Peter’s Health, and the Broadwater Area Lions Club kicked in $2,700 to cover lifeguard training costs and to offer a potential bonus to lifeguards if they stuck it out all season.

Rotary and the Lions have helped pay for lifeguard training in the past. If the kids had to pay lifeguard training costs, they would not receive a paycheck for the first couple of weeks.

Thank you to the funding sponsors. It is all about the kids in Broadwater County. The area needs more kids’ activities. Plans are being made to secure funding for the 2024 season. See you at the pool!
