Judy Williams Captivates

Saturday Afternoon, under the tent, Judy Williams had a great time playing and singing old standards and much-loved tunes like “You Are My Sunshine’, ‘Marezy-Doats’, ‘Oh, Lonesome Me’, ‘Sioux City Sue’, ‘Bad Bad Leroy Brown’, just to name a few, to all who could hear her during the Fair.

Judy began playing piano and singing in 1975 at Grand Coulee, Washington; joining her first band, Country Gold, in Omak. After that, she played in North Idaho with the band, Wild Country, in places like the Slab Inn, Kon Tiki, and the Shanty; along with many more venues in Coeur d’Alene Idaho.

After moving back to Montana several years ago, in the early 2000s; she felt an urge to do what she had done, and began Judy and the Divine Bovines, in 2010. She enlisted her friend, Carla Ahern, to perform with her.

Judy has written many of her Bovine songs (as parodies, as well as a ‘nod’ to the original song). She has sung on many CDs and they are available (just ask).

If you want to hear this duo in person, Judy and the Divine Bovines, (Judy implores that Carla is the ‘Divine’ part of their performances) are the opening act for country singers, Suzy Boggins and Kathy Matea in Lewistown at the Cowboy Poetry Gathering, August 10 through August 13. What a boost to be the opening act of such greats!
